A study to check the effect of PESIN on T-helper cell proliferation was done. The study involved oral feeding of PESIN and T-helper cell suppressive drug-Cyclosporin for a period 30 days with quantification of the T-helper and T-suppressor / cytotoxic cell ratio done at regular intervals. The control group was fed with only Cyclosporin.
The results showed significant effect of PESIN in ensuring T-helper cell proliferation and restoration to normal levels, in comparison to the control group where in the T-helper cell count declined sharply to nil during the period of investigation.
The therapeutic property of PESIN in enabling the immune system to be intact is a major step in the research and studies for an appropriate drug for HIV.
PESIN by virtue of its immuno modulator property has significant role in the treatment of autoimmune disorder like PSORIASIS. Prescription of PESIN during the severity stage of PSORIASIS for a period of 6 to 12 weeks greatly enhances the speed of remission. PESIN is hence co-prescribed with 777 oil and PSOROLIN ointment (Both products from Dr. JRK’s Siddha Research and Pharmaceuticals).
In addition, its ingredients have unique properties to overcome, painful joints, dyspepsia and depressions that commonly occur during severity stage and conditions of Psoriatic arthritis
